Welcome! This is the website of watercolour painter Christopher Ware.
Here you will find my limited
edition prints, the on-line
shop, information about booking lessons,
and how
to get to the studio. If you need help at any point just email
me or ring

As
the North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s official Artist in
Residence I
welcome everyone from Australian journalists and UK
TV crews to regular old friends who come to say hello and
see the latest work.
My Tornado Painting Challenge!
The studio has been buzzing with visitors in May, following
progress of my Tornado
painting over the spring steam gala.
Public
flocked from far and wide to see the first mainline steam loco
to be built in Britain for over 50 years. As it steamed past
my studio each day of the gala I continued with the marathon
painting challenge, my work scrutinised by everyone from interested
sightseers to steam enthusiasts, even to Tornado’s chief
engineer... now that was nerve-racking!
The original painting
has already been sold, but 200
limited edition prints are for sale.
Together these will raise £1000 towards the continued
running of Tornado and a further £1000 for the NYMR’s
urgent bridge appeal. Order
your print here
There’s a constant output of other
new paintings, both railway and landscape. A selection of my
railway prints is currently being exhibited at Richmond’s
Platform 1 Gallery (15 May to 12 June). I am also preparing
for an exhibition of landscapes ‘Along Different Lines’ at
Helmsley Arts Centre (25 Oct to 27 Nov 2009).
You are most welcome to browse this website for prints or come
to see my work, including originals, first hand. I'm open every
day 10–6 when the trains are running, and often when they
are not. If you want to make sure, please feel free to ring
or email.
My studio is at Levisham railway station on the North York
Moors Railway. [more about the studio]
The station is a peaceful and beautiful
place on the steam railway between Whitby and Pickering that
no-one visits without feeling refreshed, so why not come to
Levisham... ...a real picture. [studio
